Some mornings the best breakfast is barely a recipe at all. This honey nectarine yogurt bowl is exactly that — plain Greek yogurt, a perfectly ripe nectarine sliced right off the pit and a handful of golden honey roasted granola. Three ingredients, a generous honey drizzle and five minutes. More of a summer morning ritual than a recipe, honestly.

I made this right after pulling a batch of granola from the oven and the nectarines on the counter were at peak ripeness — that fragrant, slightly soft, deep red and golden stage where they barely need anything. So I just built a bowl around them. And it was SO good it immediately became something worth sharing.

This is the kind of breakfast that makes a slow summer morning feel genuinely special. The kind you take outside with your coffee and just sit with for a few minutes before the day gets going. Simple seasonal ingredients, a beautiful bowl and nothing complicated standing between you and a really good morning.

What You Need

Four ingredients. Five minutes. Serves one.

How to Make It

1. Start with the yogurt Spoon your Greek yogurt into your favorite bowl — thick and generous. Use whatever fat percentage you prefer. Whole milk makes this a super creamy yogurt bowl, non-fat or 2% keeps it lighter.

2. Fan the nectarine Slice your nectarine and fan the slices over one half of the yogurt. Take a second with this — the way the nectarine is arranged is what makes this bowl look intentional and beautiful. The deep red skin against the creamy white yogurt is already stunning before anything else goes on.

3. Add the granola Scatter the honey roasted almond granola over the other side. Keeping it separate from the nectarine means it stays crunchy and the two elements have their own space in the bowl.

4. Finish with honey Drizzle raw honey generously over the nectarine slices and let it pool slightly into the yogurt. This is the finishing touch that makes the whole bowl glow. Do it right before eating.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 ripe nectarine sliced
  • 1/4 cup honey roasted almond granola
  • 1 tsp raw honey

Instructions

  • Spoon Greek yogurt into a bowl.
  • Fan sliced nectarine over one half of the yogurt.
  • Scatter granola over the other side.
  • Drizzle honey generously over the nectarine and yogurt right before serving.

Notes

Nectarines are rich in Vitamin C, potassium and antioxidants. Greek yogurt provides protein and probiotics to keep you full and support gut health. Raw honey adds natural sweetness with antibacterial properties and trace minerals.

Amy’s Kitchen Tips:

  • Choose ripe nectarines — they should give slightly when pressed and smell fragrant at the stem
  • Fan the nectarine — it takes 10 seconds and makes the bowl look completely intentional
  • Keep granola on its own side — it stays crunchier longer
  • Honey drizzle last — right before eating so it stays glossy and beautiful
  • Peaches work equally well — yellow peaches are the best swap
  • For little ones skip the honey drizzle for babies under one

Notes and Swaps

On the nectarine: Peak summer nectarines need nothing more than a honey drizzle — the natural sweetness and juiciness is what makes this bowl work so well. Choose nectarines that give slightly when pressed and smell fragrant at the stem end. Those are the ripe ones.

Peaches work beautifully too: Yellow peaches are a perfect swap — same method, same honey drizzle, equally gorgeous. White peaches work but have a more delicate flavor so use a generous honey drizzle to bring it forward.

On the granola: The honey roasted almond granola is what makes this bowl feel substantial and cafe-worthy rather than just fruit and yogurt. The warm toasted almond flavor alongside the sweet nectarine and honey is a really special combination. Make a batch on Sunday and this breakfast comes together all week.

Make it a dessert: Serve in a smaller dish, use vanilla yogurt instead of plain, add an extra drizzle of honey and a few crushed pistachios on top. That version is a beautiful lighter summer dessert.
